Six free AI video generators, and a prompt that installs them
The tools from the reel, with the official link to each one, what computer each one needs, and a ready prompt for Claude Code that checks your computer and installs the one that fits.
In short
All six tools from the reel are free for personal use: open source, or models whose weights you can download. But not every tool runs on every computer. So for each tool you'll find its official page, the computer it needs, and a ready prompt for Claude Code that checks your computer first and only then installs.
We're not connected to any of these tools. I'm just collecting them here in one place.
How to use the prompt
You need Claude Code, which works with a paid Claude account. It's the tool that runs the prompt, checks your computer and installs.
-
Step 1: Open Claude Code in a new folder
Create an empty folder, for example
video-ai, and open Claude Code in it. That way everything it installs stays in one place. -
Step 2: Paste the prompt
Not sure what fits you? Start with the general prompt below: Claude checks your computer and recommends the tool that fits it. Know what you want? Every card below comes with its own prompt.
-
Step 3: Approve every step
The prompt asks Claude to stop before every large download and tell you how much space it takes. That matters: a video model can take tens of gigabytes. For example, the LTX-2.5 download is about 66GB, according to its official page.
Read every command before you approve it. If something isn't clear, ask Claude to explain what it does.
The general prompt
Works on any computer. Claude checks what you have, recommends the tool that will run on it, and installs only after you approve.

Not sure what fits you? Start here
Claude checks the operating system, the graphics card and the memory, recommends one of the tools and explains why. Only after you approve does it install.
Help me choose and install an AI video generator that will run on my computer. First check my computer: the operating system, the graphics card and how much video memory (VRAM) it has, the RAM and the free disk space. Based on that, recommend one of these tools and explain why: WanGP, HunyuanVideo-1.5, LTX-2.5, Remotion or HyperFrames. After I approve, install everything it needs following the tool's official instructions, and download the model version that fits my graphics card. Before any large download, tell me how much space it takes and wait for my approval. At the end, show me how to run it, with one short example.On a Mac, Claude will probably recommend Remotion or HyperFrames, because only they are officially supported there.
The six tools, with a prompt for each
For each tool: what it does, what computer it needs, what the license allows, and an install prompt for Claude Code. The details come from the official pages, as they were on October 29, 2026.

WanGP: many video models, even on a home GPU
@deepbeepmeep · On GitHub
A free app that runs on your computer and opens in the browser. It runs many open models, including Wan 2.1/2.2, LTX-2 and HunyuanVideo, and manages memory so that smaller cards can work too. According to the README, some models run on as little as 4GB. It used to be called Wan2GP.
Install WanGP (https://github.com/deepbeepmeep/WanGP) so I can generate videos on my computer. First check my computer: the operating system, the graphics card and how much video memory (VRAM) it has, the RAM and the free disk space, and tell me whether it fits. If it fits, install it following the official instructions in the README, and choose the model that fits my graphics card. Before any large download, tell me how much space it takes and wait for my approval. At the end, launch the interface and show me how to create a first video.Works on NVIDIA cards from the GTX 10 series and up, and on AMD. No Mac support. The license allows free use, including at work, and selling what you create; you may not sell WanGP itself or run it as a paid service.

Remotion: videos from React code
@remotion-dev · Official site
You write the video as code, and Remotion renders it to a video file. It has official skills for Claude Code, so Claude knows how to write the code for you. No graphics card needed.
Set up a Remotion project in this folder, and install Remotion's official skills for Claude Code (npx skills add remotion-dev/skills). First check that I have Node.js, and if it's missing, tell me what to install. Then build a first 10-second vertical video (1080 by 1920) with the title "[your title]", and show it to me in the preview. At the end, explain how to render it to an MP4 file.Free for individuals, non-profits and companies of up to 3 people. A company of 4 or more needs a company license, according to Remotion's license page.

HyperFrames: videos from HTML that AI writes
@heygen-com · On GitHub
A new open-source tool from HeyGen, built for AI agents: the agent writes the video in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and HyperFrames renders it to MP4. It has an official plugin for Claude Code.
Install HyperFrames (https://github.com/heygen-com/hyperframes) so I can create videos from code, including its skills for Claude Code. First check that I have Node.js 22 or later and FFmpeg, and if anything is missing, tell me what to install. Then create a new project and build a 10-second vertical video with the title "[your title]". At the end, render it to MP4 and tell me where the file is.Apache 2.0 license: free, including for commercial use, with no per-render fees. Some of its optional add-ons can connect to HeyGen services, which are paid.

HunyuanVideo-1.5: high quality on a strong home card
@Tencent-Hunyuan · On GitHub
A video model from Tencent, with 8.3 billion parameters, that creates video from text or from an image. It generates at 480p or 720p, and with an extra upscaling step it reaches 1080p (Full HD).
Install HunyuanVideo-1.5 by Tencent (https://github.com/Tencent-Hunyuan/HunyuanVideo-1.5) so I can generate videos on my computer. First check my computer: the operating system, the graphics card and how much VRAM it has, the RAM and the free disk space. According to the README it needs an NVIDIA card with at least 14GB, so if my computer doesn't fit, stop and tell me. If it fits, install it following the official instructions and download the model version that fits my card. Before any large download, tell me how much space it takes and wait for my approval. At the end, show me how to create a short video from text.Tencent's license is free, but by its own wording it does not apply in the European Union, the United Kingdom or South Korea. WanGP also runs HunyuanVideo, if you prefer one interface for several models.

LTX-2.5: video and sound from the same model
@Lightricks · On GitHub
The LTX model from Lightricks, the company behind Facetune. It generates the video and its sound together, in the same model, in sync. It also has official ComfyUI nodes.
Install LTX-2.5 by Lightricks (https://github.com/Lightricks/LTX-2) so I can generate video with sound on my computer. First check my computer: the operating system, the graphics card and how much VRAM it has, the RAM and the free disk space. According to the official docs it needs an NVIDIA card with at least 32GB, 32GB of RAM and 100GB free, so if my computer doesn't fit, stop and tell me. If it fits, install it following the official instructions. The model on Hugging Face is gated, so tell me when to sign in and accept the terms myself. Before any large download, tell me how much space it takes and wait for my approval. At the end, show me how to create a short video with sound.Free, including for commercial use, for businesses with annual revenue under $10 million. Above that you need a paid license. A 32GB card is already a top-tier card.

Open-Sora 2.0: fully open, but for servers
@hpcaitech · On GitHub
An open-source video model with 11 billion parameters. According to the README, even at the low resolution it needs about 52GB of video memory, and at 768px about 60GB, meaning a server card like an H100.
Check whether my computer can run Open-Sora 2.0 (https://github.com/hpcaitech/Open-Sora): the operating system, the graphics card and how much VRAM it has. According to the README it needs about 52 to 60GB of video memory on one card. If my computer doesn't fit, don't install anything, and explain my options.It won't run on most home computers. The code is Apache 2.0, but text-to-video goes through the FLUX.1-dev model, whose license is non-commercial. No new version has come out since March 2025.
What computer each tool needs
In short, according to the official pages.
| Item | Cost |
|---|---|
| Remotion Needs Node.js. No special graphics card. | Any computer, incl. Mac |
| HyperFrames Needs Node.js 22 or later and FFmpeg. | Any computer, incl. Mac |
| WanGP Some models from 4GB. No Mac. | NVIDIA or AMD |
| HunyuanVideo-1.5 With part of the load moved to regular memory. | NVIDIA, 14GB+ |
| LTX-2.5 Plus 32GB of RAM and 100GB of free disk space. | NVIDIA, 32GB+ |
| Open-Sora 2.0 About 52 to 60GB of video memory. | Server-grade GPU |
Not sure what you have? The general prompt asks Claude to check it for you.
Good to know
"Free" depends on who you are. For personal use, every tool here is free. In a business, read the license: Remotion needs a company license from 4 people, LTX-2.5 needs a paid license above $10 million in annual revenue, and the HunyuanVideo license does not apply in the European Union, the United Kingdom or South Korea.
Heavy models, heavy downloads. A video model can take tens of gigabytes of disk space, and generating a video can take many minutes. It's not like a cloud service that returns a result quickly.
These tools change fast. The details here are correct as of October 29, 2026. Before installing, the prompts ask Claude to follow the official instructions of each tool as they are today.
